Korea Ginseng Corp. (KGC) has opened a premium spa in Haeundae, Busan, expanding its beauty business from red ginseng cosmetics to spa.

KGC is Korea’s leading exporter of red ginseng with 118 years of experience. It exports the world’s finest red ginseng products under the brand name of CheongKwanJang. It also produces red ginseng-based cosmetics under the Donginbi brand.

The company has extended its expertise in red ginseng to the spa business. The Haeundae spa, which was opened in July, is the first branch of Spa 1899. KGC has added two more branches, the Daechi and Myeongdong spas in Seoul, to Spa 1899. The two shops were previously operated as the branches of CheongKwanJang Spa G. They underwent renovation works to be renewed as Spa 1899 branches.

KGC will make SPA 1899 a place where customers can experience premium skin care programs and services that are combined with Donginbi’s red ginseng cosmetics. It plans to maximize synergy with Donginbi and accelerate the beauty business.

SPA 1899 is a sophisticated space that contains Korea's beauty and provides dignified beauty services and various spa programs linked to the main products of Donginbi through professional therapists.

"SPA 1899 will satisfy the customers' five senses by combining the value of red ginseng and Donginbi’s signature beauty secret,” said Ahn Bin, head of the KGC’s cosmetics division. “We will continue to expand space to experience the value of Donginbi so that Korea’s beauty will be known not only to locals but to foreigners.”

Meanwhile, commemorating the opening of SPA 1899 Haewoondae branch, KGC plans to give its new product Donginbi Sul Essence (50ml) to 100 people who pre-book a spa program on the first-come-first-served basis. Reservations can be made by phone (051-747-8036) or through the SPA 1899 website (www.spa1899.co.kr).
