Korea Ginseng Corporation (KGC) has opened “LOUNGE 1899,” which allows consumers to experience its premium products of “Cheong Kwan Jang” and “Donginbi,” to tap into the red ginseng-based health and beauty markets in earnest. 

KGC aims to become a global leading total health company by strengthening its influence in the health care market and pushing into the beauty market through a synergy between “Cheong Kwan Jang” with 119 years of history and its premium red ginseng cosmetic brand “Donginbi.”

The LOUNGE 1899 is a new form of health and beauty store that enables consumers to try health products of Cheong Kwan Jang and cosmetics of Donginbi in one space as well as have personalized counseling with experts so that they can understand better and have a wider range of experiences about red ginseng.

At the new store, consumers can try “Oil Hand Massage” and “Red Ginseng Hand Spa” that contain red ginseng extract oil, which is a main substance of Donginbi cosmetics, and Cheong Kwan Jang’s health supplement foods based on extracts of red ginseng and various ingredients through its customized tea service.

Namgung Joo-won, head of the H&B team at KGC, said, “The LOUNGE 1899 is a new concept store that provides consumers with an opportunity to understand, experience and enjoy red ginseng in numerous ways beyond a store simply selling red ginseng products. We expect to spread various red ginseng culture to not only local consumers in their 20s and 30s but also foreign tourists.”

KGC currently runs six stores of the LOUNGE 1899 across the nation, including the one opened on Jan. 26 in Teheran-ro in the Gangnam district of Seoul. It is also planning to open 60 more stores in major areas by region by the end of this year.
