KGC Stepping up Marketing Campaign for Donginbi, a Red Genseng Cosmetics Brand

Korea Ginseng Corp. (KGC) is stepping up marketing efforts for its premium red ginseng cosmetics line, Donginbi.

The company has recently selected actress Han Ji-min as the model for Donginbi and launched a “density care” campaign.

Han is chosen as she is well-known for her resilient and flawless skin. She said she decided to endorse Donginbi cosmetics because she has used them before and learned that they are effective in firming and tightening skin.

KGC says the red ginseng ingredients in Donginbi products enhance the density of the dermis, which accounts for 90 percent of the skin. “You cannot expect true anti-aging benefits without improving the density of the thick dermal matrix,” says Ahn Bin, who heads the KGC's cosmetics department. “This is why we have launched the density care campaign.”

The company’s new ad featuring Han is about making the skin tighter through anti-aging care focused on the deep layers of the skin.

“Donginbi is intended to apply premium red ginseng to skin,” says Ahn. “For this, we have developed three core ingredients -- red ginseng oil, red ginseng extract and red ginseng condensate. These ingredients go deep inside the skin, maximizing the anti-aging effects. This is how Donginbi is different from other Korean herbal medicine cosmetics.”

KGC says actress Han is the right model for Donginbi not just because her skin is beautiful but because her classy image fits Donginbi, which is a luxurious brand.

One of the hottest actresses in Korea, Han recently was chosen as the Best Leading Actress of the 39th Blue Dragon Film Awards for her role in “Miss Baek,” a film about a female ex-convict.
