The AIR i foldable electric bike equipped with IoT Technology for theft prevention

KT announced on June 22 that it launched AIR i, a foldable electric bicycle with a built-in theft prevention device, in partnership with Recon Hi-tech.

AIR i is equipped with IoT technology and linked with KT’s Smart Mobility Platform. KT’s Smart Mobility Platform connects the IoT internet module embedded in a mobile object such as a bike with its LTE-M network. It can identify the location of the mobile object in real time and control its functions.

KT and Recon Hi-tech provide “Finding a Lost Bike” service that checks the most recent location of a lost or stolen product. It also supports a “Remote Power Control” service that stops the product's motors from running to prevent the lost AIR i from being resold or used for other purposes.

These services can be available through the KT Customer Center if you purchase AIR i and register the relevant information on the Recon Hi-tech website. It is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

AIR i uses an alloy frame and fork, and has a battery and motor, but weighs only about 15 kilograms. When the battery is fully charged, it can run for about 60 kilometers.

The innovative bike is available at popular online shopping malls such as KT Shop (shop.kt.com), Coupang, Wemap, G-Market, Naver Store Farm, and Recon Hi-tech stores nationwide.
