Seoul-based K-Culture content platform KSTYLES has signed an agreement with major Malaysian libraries to launch a collaborative publishing project that will bring together authors from both Korea and Malaysia.

KSTYLES received government support (KOCCA) in 2023 through the Overseas Comics Platform Development and Operation Support Program, under which the company signed contracts with 120 emerging Korean comic and webtoon creators. Through its proprietary app KBOOK, KSTYLES has been steadily promoting global expansion by providing these creators’ works in both Korean and English.

Since 2019, KSTYLES has actively participated in exhibitions in Malaysia. Notably, at the 2022 Malaysia Book Fair, the company was invited as Korea’s official fellow, establishing strong networks within the local publishing industry. These long-standing efforts have now culminated in the launch of this Korea–Malaysia collaborative project.

Looking ahead, KSTYLES plans to relaunch its platform by transforming the existing KBOOK app into the KSTYLES website. The renewed platform will expand opportunities for not only Korean and Malaysian authors, but also creators worldwide, to showcase their stories to a global audience.

A KSTYLES representative stated, “Starting with this Korea–Malaysia collaboration, we aim to introduce more creators’ stories to the global stage. We will continue to support emerging authors in their overseas expansion and promote the diversity of K-Culture content worldwide.”
