Event Supports Diverse Music Genres, Boosts Local Tourism
Paradise will hold the Asian Pop Festival 2025 (APF) at Paradise City in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, from June 21 to 22. As the only music festival held at a hotel in Korea, it is expected to contribute to the expansion of the domestic art ecosystem.
According to Paradise on June 9, this year’s APF is the second event following last year’s inaugural festival. Unlike general music festivals held at sports stadiums or parks with special stages, APF has the advantage of being held within a hotel. It is the only music festival held at a hotel resort in Korea. Additionally, the festival features teams from various genres that are difficult to encounter domestically, such as folk and reggae, which led to the early bird tickets opened in March being completely sold out.
Paradise is hosting APF as part of its social contribution efforts. While music festivals are not guaranteed to be profitable, the company aims to provide performance opportunities for artists and offer domestic audiences access to diverse cultures. In particular, while K-pop has established itself as a global content, other diverse genres of music have relatively fewer opportunities for public exposure. As such, Paradise has prepared this event as part of its corporate social role to revitalize the popular music ecosystem through performance culture. Especially, to help domestic bands expand broadly overseas, the company has invited foreign delegates (concert planners) under the theme of Asian Pop to facilitate active exchanges between domestic and international musicians and create a foundation for overseas expansion. Furthermore, music festivals contribute to revitalizing local tourism and expanding cultural and artistic experiences for residents. In May, Paradise signed a business agreement with Jung-gu, Incheon, to cooperate in attracting cultural events and supporting the art ecosystem.
Paradise has also been focusing on the coexistence of local communities through culture and arts. With this intention, the company holds the Art Lab Festival every September in Jangchung-dong to support the creative activities of young artists. A Paradise official stated, “Through the music festival, we are revitalizing the local economy in Incheon and broadening opportunities for local residents to enjoy culture and arts,” adding, “We hope that the music ecosystem will be invigorated through musical diversity, and that there will be more large stages for talented musicians to perform on.”
