Signs MOU with BITEXCO Group of Vietnam

Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Hyundai E&C) participates in an eco-friendly smart city development project in Vietnam.

The company signed a memorandum of understanding with its Vietnamese partners on Aug. 29 to jointly promote the development of the Ha Nam Eco-Smart Urban Living Tomorrow City, a project pushed by BITEXCO Group of Companies and Hanam Province of Vietnam.

A signing ceremony was held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hanoi with the attendance of about 40 people, including Hyundai E&C CEO Yoon Young-joon, Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Park Noh-wan, BITEXCO chairman Vu Quang Hoi, BITEXCO CEO Ray Ho and high-ranking officials of the Vietnamese government.

Hyundai E&C will build a district in the new city, located about 50 km south of Hanoi. It will build and operate smart systems in the district.

The company will jointly develop the Hi-Tech Zone (about 663ha), which will accommodate R&D centers, office buildings, commercial facilities and smart logistics centers, and the Urban Zone (about 861ha), which will consist of residential and service infrastructure facilities. Hyundai E&C will participate in this project from the basic design stage.
