Ahead of Schedule by 6 Months
Hyundai Engineering has completed a water purification plant in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The company held a ceremony to mark the event at the Kimbanseke area of Lemba-Imbu in the African country on Aug. 23.
The ceremony was attended by DR Congo President Felix Tshisekedi, Jonas Didier NtakuSalabiaku, president of Regideso, a water supply company in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Park Chan-woo, head of the Infrastructure Industry Development Division at Hyundai Engineering.
The project involved the construction of a water purification plant that processes 35,000 tons of water per day and a 29 km-long transmission/drainage pipe in Lemba-Imbu, a southeastern part of the capital, Kinshasa. Regideso launched the project with a budget of US$61 million to solve a water shortage problem in 2019.
Hyundai Engineering has completed the water purification plant ahead of schedule by about six months to supply water to local residents as early as possible.
