A Curved Gaming Screen
Samsung Electronics unveiled the curved 55-inch Odyssey Ark gaming screen on Aug. 16. The new product with a curvature of 1000R is height- and angle-adjustable and can be rotated by 90 degrees. In the horizontal mode, up to four 27-inch screens can be displayed at the same time. Three 32-inch screens are displayed in the vertical mode.
The 4K and 165Hz screen has a GTG response time of 1ms. It comes with the Samsung Gaming Hub and cloud games can be enjoyed without device connection, download or storage space. Its light source is Quantum Mini LEDs to which contrast mapping is applied for more efficient and intelligent brightness and contrast ratio control. Its additional features include matt display for reflection minimization, sound dome technology and 2.2.2-channel 60W Dolby Atmos.
The product is characterized by intuitively controllable screen configurations and functions. Users can freely set game screens and their ratios and positions to suit their preferences. The Ark Dial as a dedicated controller is provided with the product to assist in the control.
The online pre-sale is scheduled to open on Aug. 24 and the domestic price is 3.4 million won. The offline launching is scheduled for Sept. 7, starting from the United Kingdom.
