Kumho Tire announced on March 26 that it won the Golden Dragon Award 2015, which was given to top foreign companies that invested in Vietnam. The award is co-organized by the Vietnamese government and a local newspaper company. They evaluate various items, including products, service quality, environmental production, and social contributions. In particular, Kumho Tire has received the award for two consecutive years.

Kim Hyun-ho, general director of Kumho Tire Vietnam, said, “I am very glad that we have won the Golden Dragon Award for two consecutive years. Based on the product and quality, along with corporate social responsibility, we will continue to make efforts to contribute to the economic growth of Vietnam in the future.”

Kumho Tire established the first Vietnamese passenger tire production factory in Binh Duong Province, Ho Chi Minh City, in 2008, and is manufacturing 3.3 million tires annually.

Also, the company is investing greatly in corporate social responsibility activities in Binh Duong Province, including support for underprivileged families and visually impaired person facilities. In 2012, Kumho Tire signed an MOU with the Vietnamese Resident Society in Korea to support culture festivals and run Korean language learning classes. In Jan. 2013, the company started offering a program called the “Korea-Vietnam Multicultural Family Visit to Homeland,” and 43 families visited Vietnam as of January this year.
