Fair Trade Watchdog Investigating Nexon Korea

The Korea Fair Trade Commission is looking into Nexon Korea regarding the suspicion of random item probability tampering on its games including MapleStory, Dungeon Fighter Online and Mabinogi.

A random item is what a gamer purchases with his or her game money or the like. Its type and performance are determined at random.

The commission’s investigation covers whether Nexon Korea lowered the probabilities of items preferred by consumers and, if so, it constitutes a violation of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. A report is scheduled to be sent to Nexon Korea after the investigation is completed.
