On Duty in a Neighborhood of Gwanak-gu, Seoul

Mando’s self-driving patrol robot Goalie Ⅱ is on patrol in an alley of Gwanak-gu, Seoul.

Mando’s self-driving patrol robot Goalie Ⅱ has passed an ISO 13482 safety test conducted by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement (KIRIA). It was put into service in a neighborhood of Gwanak-gu, Seoul, beginning in June.

Goalie Ⅱ is the first urban autonomous patrol robot in Korea and is a next-generation version of the first-generation Goalie, which started operating at Baegot Life Park in Siheung, a city southwest of Seoul, in July 2020.

Goalie Ⅱ passed an international standard test (ISO 13482) related to safety. Its autonomous driving patrol capability has been upgraded to suit urban areas. It is capable of real-time 5G communications with a control center and is equipped with LiDAR and surround cameras, which more than doubled the robot’s recognition ability compared to the first-generation Goalie.

A thermal imaging camera was additionally installed to enhance its night patrol function. It is also able to intensively monitor high-crime areas such as blind spots for CCTVS.
