In Cooperation with Vietnamese Partners

Officials of Daewoo E&C, Hanoi Power Corp. and Bespin Global pose for a photo after signing an MOU on an AMI pilot project in Hanoi Star Lake City at the main office of Hanoi Power Corp. in Hanoi on June 8.

Daewoo E&C announced on June 8 that it signed an MOU on a pilot project for building advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) in Hanoi Star Lake City with three Vietnamese companies -- THT Development Co., Hanoi Power Corp. (EVNHANOI), which is a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity, and Bespin Global, a cloud delivery platform company.

The MOU was signed to introduce AMI-based pilot infrastructure in some blocks of Hanoi’s Star Lake City, which is being built by Daewoo E&C, and provide benefits to users through an optimized power supply.

The AMI construction project is one of the two pilot projects promoted by Vietnam Electricity under the direction of the Prime Minister’s Office of Vietnam. The other pilot project is carried out in Ho Chi Minh City.

The AMI will be linked with the THT-Bespin Smart City Hub, a smart city data management platform built and operated by Bespin Global and Daewoo E&C's subsidiary in Vietnam. When completed, it is expected to become one of the electricity-related technology standards for Vietnam’s smart cities in the future.

When the AMI is completed, it will be able to monitor power usage and analyze power usage trends by city, day, and month, as well as predict power use by residents, buildings and the entire city based on real-time data, collected data, and weather forecasts. It will automatically offer a power optimization usage method, too.
