LG will introduce its new curved flagship model, the LG G Flex 2, with a 5.5 inch curved display. One of the first smartphones with a curved design and a self-healing case is already receiving excellent reviews on its speed, performance, and other features, even before its debut in the U.S. on March 13th. Pre-orders began on Feb. 20th.

“The G Flex 2 reflects LG’s Customer-centered philosophy,” said Kim Young-ho, a member of the design management center of LG Electronics and the designer of the device. Juno Cho, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said, “The original G Flex demonstrated LG’s pioneering spirit, and with the G Flex 2 we have refined the curved form factor. Behind the stunning look, it has powerful guts to be at the cutting edge of current smartphone technology.”

The LG G Flex 2 is the first smartphone to boast the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with an Octa-Core 64-bit capable CPU optimized for Android 5.0. It also has a separate GPU, the Qualcomm Adreno 430, dedicated to graphics. The device's glass is estimated to be approximately 20 percent more durable, thanks to a special chemical treatment technology developed by LG.

The LG G Flex 2 will be available in Korea at the end of the month. The device will be offered initially in two colors: Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red.
