Like Father, Like Son
The day after LG Electronics President Cho Sung-jin was indicted by the prosecutors' office on charges of deliberately damaging Samsung Electronics’ washing machines in German stores, the son of President Cho made fun of Samsung washing machines on social media, calling them fragile and made of glass. This has become controversial.
According to the Chosun Ilbo, the president's son, who is currently studying in the U.S., posted a link to a video showing the incident that LG Electronics revealed to his Facebook page on Feb. 16. He added his own comment as well, saying, “The name of the washing machine is the Crystal, and it really seems like a glass washing machine.”
He also posted a video clip showing door tests of the Volkwagen Golf with the remark, saying, “You need to have at least this much confidence.”
The 29-second-long Volkswagen video clip shows a middle-aged man slam the car door shut with all his strength, and also opening the driver’s seat door and jumping on the door.
Cho has now deleted the post from his Facebook page. He is currently studying in Los Angeles after graduating from university in Korea.
