A Project Worth KRW22.8bn

A view of Eskom's Kendal Power Station in South Africa

KEPCO KPS, a company specializing in power transmission and transmission facility maintenance, has won an overhaul (OH) order for 16 thermal and nuclear power plants owned by Eskom, a South African electricity public utility.

The order value is approximately 22.8 billion won and the project period is one year from April 2022.

Last year, KEPCO KPS won a 17 billion won order from ESKOM for maintenance of its power plants.

The company opened its branch office in South Africa in 2013 and has since made efforts to tap into the African market. Since 2017, order receipts had been on the decline amid the worsening business environment. The company sought to overcome difficulties through thorough localization.
