Choi Byung-oh, chairman of Fashion Group Hyungji, has received personal appreciation from the Vietnamese government for his dedication to revitalizing the economy of Vietnam.

Visiting the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on Feb. 9, Choi had a conversation with Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan. Choi said, “We will actively work to develop international trade between the two countries and to widen opportunities for exchange and cooperation, including exhibitions and a delegation of market development.” 

Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan said, “Korean clothing and fashion brands will more actively make inroads into global markets due to the recent Hallyu or the Korean Wave. The Vietnamese government will also be able to export more clothing to Korea through the abolishment of tariff walls.” 

Hyungji Group established its C&M plant in Bac Giang, Vietnam, in 2010. Also, the group is employing 2,000 locals and creating export effects for Vietnam worth US$40 million (43.82 billion won). 

Moreover, Fashion Group Hyungji is practicing corporate social responsibility, donating of US$10,000 (10.96 million won) for Vietnamese children to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organization.
