US$200M LNG Carrier
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) announced on Feb. 4 that it won an LNG carrier building project worth US$200 million.
The vessel has a size of approximately 174,000 m3, and is going to be equipped with an LNG fuel supply system that the DSME developed on its own.
In addition, up to US$15,000 in navigation expenses is expected to be saved on a daily basis with the new and advanced engine if the ship sails at 12 knots, which is the average speed of LNG carriers.
