On Feb. 3, CJ Group Chairman Sohn Kyung-shik had a conversation with Jiang Zengwei, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), who is currently visiting Korea.

As the CJ Group is seeing high growth in China every year through the localization of Korean media programs, the Chinese market is crucial enough for the group to earn the nickname the 2nd CJ.

Sohn said, “In order for the CJ to become a company loved by Chinese consumers, I am hoping for the CCPIT’s continuous interest and cooperation for many years to come.”

Chairman Jiang Zengwei said, “Korea is the first country that I visited after I took office as chairman, and the CJ Group is also the first company that I visited during my visit to Korea. The CJ Group has contributed significantly to the development of industries in both countries and trade between them.”

The CJ Group entered the Chinese market in the mid-90s and has launched numerous businesses in various industries, including pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, food and food service, entertainment and media, and logistics systems.
