Joins AWS Exclusive Global Business Network

Samsung SDS has joined the AWS Exclusive Global Business Network to enter the global cloud managed service provider (MSP) market.

Samsung SDS is gearing up to penetrate the global cloud managed service provider (MSP) market in earnest.

The company announced on Feb. 17 that it has formed a strategic mutual cooperation partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to participate in AWS Exclusive Global Business Network. The network is a top AWS partnership, with global companies such as Verizon and NEC participating. Samsung SDS is the only Korean member.

Samsung SDS is speeding up its transition to cloud in the belief that strengthening cloud-based services will enable the company to go global beyond Korean companies and Samsung Group affiliates.

The company has sharpened its expertise in cloud by carrying out cloud projects for factories and systems of Samsung Group affiliates, which are at the world’s highest levels. It is seeking to expand to international markets by leveraging its experiences.

Samsung SDS is also continuing to strengthen cooperation with AWS, the world’s largest cloud company. Since January 2021, it has been carrying out cloud transformation projects in such fields as manufacturing, the chemical business and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) together with AWS. To this end, AWS is giving business and technological support to Samsung SDS’s cloud transformation business, ranging from marketing to cloud infrastructure, sales, education, and construction.

In addition, Samsung SDS is participating in the AWS Software as a service (SaaS) Factory Program for the SaaS conversion and commercialization of partners’ solutions. Through this, Samsung SDS platforms and solutions will be commercialized in AWS cloud and their SaaS business will spread to overseas markets by utilizing AWS’s global sales network.
