Ace Technology, a wireless communication equipment company, announced on Feb. 13 that it has been selected as the No. 1 supplier of base station antennas for the world’s No. 2 telecommunication service provider.

Ace Technology will supply half of the total volume offered in the 2022-2023 base station antenna supply bid by the world’s second-largest telecommunication business operator, which serves 480 million subscribers in India and Africa.

India, with a population of 1.4 billion or 18 percent of the world population, is facing a surge in data traffic in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bangalore due to the spread of COVID-19.

Demand for LTE base station antennas is growing as a 5G frequency auction, which was originally planned in 2021, has been postponed to the second half of 2022. India is predicted to become the world’s largest 5G market in 2023. The 5G antenna market is expected to expand as the 5G frequency auction is scheduled for the third quarter of 2022.
