To Be Loaded into 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS
LG Electronics announced on Jan. 12 that its plastic organic light emitting diode (P-OLED) infotainment systems will be loaded into the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS model.
The infotainment system was jointly developed with the German carmaker and consists of three screens -- an instrument panel, a central information display and a passenger seat display.
LG Electronics made the entire dashboard as a curved panoramic screen using a P-OLED display. P-OLED is considered to be the most suitable display for vehicle displays because of its freely bendable characteristic. P-OLED displays have a wide viewing angle and offer an excellent image quality. They can provide a wide range of information to users and perform entertainment functions.
The infotainment system for Mercedes-Benz AG features various technologies such as curved glass molding, surface treatment, and display bonding.
LG Display topped the vehicle OLED panel market in 2021, attaining a 91.3 percent share, said Omdia, a market research firm, on Jan. 12.
