Raises KRW8.6tr through Bond Issuance

SK Group issued the largest amount of corporate bonds this year among domestic business groups.

SK Group issued 8.602 trillion won of corporate bonds this year and became the largest issuer for the second consecutive year. Specifically, the maturity amount and net issuance are 5.496 trillion won and 3.106 trillion won, respectively. Last year, the figures were 5.369 trillion won and 3.305 trillion won, respectively.

Lotte Group came in second with a total corporate bond issuance of 4.206 trillion won. The maturity amount and net issuance are 2.805 trillion won and 1.401 trillion won. In 2020, the respective figures were 2.305 trillion won and 1.14 trillion won.

The third place was taken by LG Group. Its total issuance is 3.66 trillion won, which is divided into 2.48 trillion won and 1.18 trillion won. The two figures were 2.89 trillion won and 380 billion won last year.

This year, Hyundai Motor Group reduced its issuance from 4.5845 trillion won to 3.278 trillion won. It reduced its maturity amount from 2.98 trillion won to 2.752 trillion won and net issuance from 1.84 trillion won to 526 billion won.

NH Financial Group rose from seventh to fifth, followed by Shinsegae, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung, CJ and GS Groups.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service, non-financial companies issued 37 corporate bonds that add up to 2.06 trillion won in November this year whereas the figures were 41 and 3.202 trillion won in October. In November, the issuance of AA and higher was 1.89 trillion won whereas that of the rest stood at 170 billion won.
