Design and Specifications Leaked
The design and specifications of Samsung's budget tablet PC, the Galaxy Tab A8, have been partially disclosed. This product is expected to enter mass production soon and be officially launched in early 2022.
On Dec. 12, German IT media outlet WinFuture released two color images of the Galaxy Tab A8. The new tablet has a microphone, a power button, and a volume locker on the right side and SIM and microSD card slots on the left. At the top is another microphone with two speakers, and at the bottom is a pair of speakers and a USB-C port with a 3.5-mm headphone jack.
It has a selfie camera powered by a 5 MP sensor on the right side of its 10.5-inch full HD+ LCD display. An 8 MP basic camera with a black ring is placed on the back. In a previously leaked image of the tablet, Samsung Electronics’ logo was put in the center, but in the newly released image, it is placed under the camera.
The Galaxy Tab A8 offers three storage capacities -- 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB -- and is powered by the Android Operating System. It has a 7040 mAh battery but its charging speed has not yet been disclosed. In addition, it features Dolby Atmos technology, a face unlocking function, a side fingerprint reader, dual-band Wi-Fi and LTE connections. It will come in three colors. In the European market, it will retail at 230 euros. It is expected to hit the market around mid-January 2022.
