TV Panels with Superior Gaming Performance
LG Display announced on Oct. 7 that its OLED TV panels have obtained 'High Gaming Performance Gold' certification from TÜV Rheinland of Germany and 'Qualified Superior Gaming Performance' certification from Intertek of the United Kingdom.
The two testing agencies certified all of LG Display’s 48- to 88-inch OLED TV panels currently in production.
Gaming TVs need to implement smooth and clear images without interruption, even in fast-moving videos. So what matters most is their response speeds, that is, how fast they can show a graphic card's signal on a screen. A high response speed also decreases the input lag, or the time it takes for a display panel to show a game signal on a screen.
In a test by Intertek, LG Display’s OLED TV panels were measured to be the fastest among current TV panels with a response speed of 0.1 ms (0.0001 second) or less based on the gray to gray (GTG) method. In addition, it was certified as a display with superior gaming performance because there was no afterimage commonly seen on LCDs.
