The Laneige Water Sleeping Pack is a special care product that forms a protective coat on the face, providing nutrients and moisturizing effects to the skin. It was launched in 2002 to meet the needs of Asian customers who look for the simple and immediate effects of beauty care.
It is enriched with betaglucan, a bio-polymer moisturizing material, which was developed from Schizophyllum commune, a type of mushroom. It maximizes moisture and provides nutrients to the skin during sleep. Also, the product reportedly has a sleep-inducing Sleepscent aroma. In particular, it was highly appraised for changing the beauty habits of women worldwide, getting them to apply it as a sleeping mask before bed.
The product sold 3.6 million units last year. The annual average sales growth rate was 82 percent, while recording a 92 percent growth rate in the global market.
