Best Cars in Canada

The Sonata and Genesis of Hyundai Motor and the Soul EV of Kia Motors ranked first in each category evaluation of the 2015 Canadian Car of the Year, which was announced by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada on Dec. 3 (local time).

The Sonata ranked first in the category of family cars worth over US$30,000, beating Toyota’s Camry Hybrid and Subaru’s WRX.

The Genesis won first place in the category of luxury cars worth over US$50,000, receiving a better evaluation than Acura RLX Hybrid and Cadillac ATS Coupe.

Soul EV, which was recently chosen as the 2015 Norwegian Car of the Year, ranked first in the category of City Car, outdoing Smart Fortwo.

With the three models ranking first, Hyundai and Kia Motor Group posted the largest number of first-ranking cars, along with the Volkswagen Group, in the Canadian market.

Canadian Car of the Year chooses the best car in 15 categories by making overall evaluations on style, quality, performance, mileage, and safety among new models and partially changed models year to date.

After that, the final two models by category will be awarded at the Toronto Motor show in February next year through votes on the 15 models.
