Focusing on Fulfillment and Data Centers

Goldman Sachs is planning to invest two trillion won or so in real estate in South Korea for the next two years.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management has recently set up a real estate due diligence team at the Seoul office of Goldman Sachs.

According to industry insiders, Goldman Sachs is going to invest two trillion won or so in fulfillment and data centers and other properties in South Korea for the next two years and already purchased more than 650,000 square meters of land in Icheon.

The investment will be made by an overseas real investment fund of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. To this end, investment support for subsidiary-run overseas funds was added to the business scope of the office in the Financial Supervisory Service on Aug. 19.

Goldman Sachs has made a lot of investment in real estate assets in South Korea. The examples include Gangnam Renaissance Hotel redevelopment, the Samsung Card building in Jongno and the Lotte Young Plaza in Daegu.
