Decides to Pay 1,500 Won per Share

SK Inc. will pay an interim dividend of 1,500 won per share.

SK Inc. will pay an interim dividend of 1,500 won per share, the largest amount since it started to distribute an interim dividend in 2018.

The company made the decision in a board meeting on July 21. The total amount of the interim dividend payout is 79.3 billion won, up about 50 percent from 52.8 billion won paid in 2020.

The total amount of annual dividend payout rose by 77 percent in four years from 208.7 billion won in 2016 to 370.1 billion won in 2020.

SK Inc.'s investment income from the listing of SK Biopharm stocks in 2020 and the sale of part of its stake in EST, a global logistics platform company, was used as dividend sources. The company will also use investment profits from the sale of part of its stake in SK Biopharm. It will decide the amount of annual dividend payment after considering management situations.

SK Inc. is focusing its investment on growth drivers in the fields of advanced materials, biotech, green (eco-friendly) businesses, and digital technology. It has invested in Plug Power, a hydrogen company, Yiposkesi, a French gene therapy manufacturer, and Signet EV, a fast charger manufacturer for electric vehicles.

In particular, it invested in Grab, SolidEnergy System, and Roivant, which are preparing to go public and are thus expected to maximize the corporate value of SK Inc.

"SK Inc. is rapidly solidifying itself as an investment company through ESG-oriented portfolio innovation and the Financial Story Project,” an SK official said. “We will pursue the growth of our company and the expansion of shareholder value by establishing a virtuous circle of investment."
