Shinhan Bank announced on July 15 that it has been selected as the best bank in Korea for six consecutive years by global financial magazine Euromoney.

Euromoney holds the Awards for Excellence annually to select the best banks based on comprehensive evaluations of banks in various categories such as finance, strategy, digital and ESG management. It announced the winners for 2021 on July 15.

Shinhan Bank logged the highest BIS ratio (18.47 percent) among Korean commercial banks despite unfavorable business conditions at home and abroad due to the spread of COVID-19. Its global operations accounted for more than 15 percent of its profits.

In particular, Euromoney said Shinhan Bank led the Korean financial market as it carried out innovative digital transformations and faithfully practiced ESG management by joining the Equator Principles and declaring coal phase-out finance for the first time in Korea.
