Galaxy Z Flip 3 to Be Launched Next Month
As Samsung Electronics is expected to unveil a Thom Browne edition when it launches the Galaxy Z Flip 3 next month, expectations are growing that the smartphone maker may collaborate with such luxury brands as Louis Vuitton and Gucci as well.
Dutch IT media outlet Let'sGoDigital recently released a rendering image of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 with Louis Vuitton and Gucci monograms. Graphic designer Giuseppe Spinelli produced a concept image in anticipation of collaboration between Samsung Electronics and these brands.
This rendering image is a virtual concept image, not an actual product. It is unlikely that Samsung Electronics will release a Louis Vuitton or Gucci edition this time. However, industry insiders believe that Samsung Electronics will collaborate with French luxury brands following Thom Browne. Speculations are rife about which luxury brands will join hands with Samsung Electronics for special editions of the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Among the brands currently mentioned are Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Celine, Chanel and Hermes.
Until now, Samsung Electronics enjoyed positive responses by collaborating with luxury brands such as Hugo Boss, Giorgio Armani, Alexander Wang, and Moschino. In particular, the company released Thom Browne editions of the Galaxy Z Flip and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 last year, which enjoyed strong popularity. Despite the high prices of 2.97 million won and 3.96 million won, respectively, these special editions sold like hot cakes, gaining immense popularity with their eye-catching designs. This led Samsung Electronics to release a Thom Browne edition of the new foldable smartphone during the Galaxy Unpack event scheduled for Aug. 11, they say.
"Samsung Electronics is likely to cooperate with luxury brands other than Thom Browne to maintain the premium image of its foldable models this time," an industry official said. "At the moment, expectations are high that Samsung will collaborate with Louis Vuitton, which is highly recognized in Korea.”
