Amore Pacific announced on Oct. 22 that its Oriental cosmetics brand Sulwhasoo topped the Cosmetics for Women segment of this year’s People.cn survey, showing that Chinese consumers favor Korean luxury brands.

People.cn is the online platform of the People’s Daily, which is one of the most prestigious and influential newspapers in the world, and 380 million people visit the channel per day on average. Its Korea section, providing information about Korea for Chinese people, has 300,000 to 400,000 visitors a day.

Sulwhasoo, which made its debut in China in March 2011, has been one of the major cosmetics brands representing Korea there. At present, 42 Sulwhasoo shops are open to provide 47 products each at department stores in major cities like Beijing. They are growing 200 percent each year.

The brand can be found in 10 countries around the world, including China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United States.
