Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 to Be Released in August

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 with no camera hole

Sam Mobile, an information technology (IT) media outlet, reported on June 2 that Samsung Electronics will launch foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in August.

Samsung Electronics is currently mass-producing major components of the Z Fold 3. The initial production volume of the new foldable smartphone model is expected to be one-third that of the Galaxy S series.

After releasing the Galaxy Fold in 2019, Samsung Electronics changed its design to improve usability. In the case of the Z Fold 2 released in 2020, the cover display has grown bigger than that of its predecessor, receiving positive responses from consumers.

Market experts predict that an under display camera (UDC) will be installed in the Z Fold 3 for the first time among foldable phones. The camera is expected to have 16 million pixels. UDC technology puts a camera underneath the display to hide the camera notch and realize a full screen.

After consumers complained about a large camera notch mounted on the Galaxy Fold, Samsung Electronics used a punch-hole display for the Z Fold 2 and even removed the camera hole this time.
