Mirae Asset Securities announced on May 3 that it has achieved the milestones of 20 trillion won in overseas stocks and 20 trillion won in pension assets for the first time in the Korean securities industry. Its pension assets surpassed 20 trillion won on April 2 and its overseas stock assets did the same on April 29.

The company’s overseas stock assets have increased 20-fold in four years since they reached one trillion won in January 2017. This year, they swelled by 4.3 trillion won.

During this period, Mirae Asset Securities' customers earned about five trillion won in total from overseas stock investments. Major stocks held by the customers include Tesla, Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft. They earned about 1.8 trillion won in cumulative profits from investment in these stocks.

Mirae Asset Securities is strengthening asset distribution through ETFs. Its strategy is to prepare for volatility by utilizing the effects of distributed investments in blue-chip stocks through ETFs. Its ETF balance crossed 4.6 trillion won, accounting for about 25 percent of the company’s overseas stock assets excluding foreign-currency deposits.
