Ranked 3rd in the World

South Korean workers’ AI-related capabilities improved to the third place in the world in 2020, according to the OECD.

Private think tank K-Policy Platform announced on March 16 that South Korean workers’ AI-related capabilities improved to the third place in the world in 2020 according to the OECD.

“The evaluation, which is based on a LinkedIn database, is an assessment of highly educated and experienced people rather than overall workers,” it said. On this list, South Korean workers came in fourth in 2016, seventh in 2018 and fifth in 2019. Last year’s ranking is the highest in their history.

The OECD also reported that the rate of utilization of data analysis by non-large South Korean companies was less than 10 percent in 2020, the lowest level in the organization. The think tank pointed out that the digital and data illiteracy of those working for such companies is a matter that needs to be addressed urgently.
