A Project Worth 40 Billion Won

CJ ICM moves the Zeynel Bey Tomb, an ancient tomb in Turkey, by using a self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) in May 2017.

CJ Logistics announced on March 10 that CJ ICM, the company’s subsidiary in the Middle East, has won a 40-billion-won logistics order for the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex (SGCC) project in the Shurtan area of Uzbekistan.

The project involves providing comprehensive logistics services, including the loading, sea transport, transshipment, customs clearance, unloading and inland transportation of heavy machinery from nine countries -- Korea, China, Japan, Russia, India, Belgium, Spain, Germany and Italy – to Uzbekistan.

The transportation list includes super-heavy weights including a maximum weight of 450 tons and a length of 98 meters with the total weight and length of all transportation cargoes standing at about 80,000 tons and 680 kilometers. The distance from each country to the Uzbek construction site exceeds 20,000 kilometers.

CJ ICM, which has six bases throughout Central Asia, works closely with the relevant government agencies through the six bases to transport them to Uzbekistan, a double-landlocked country. The company will move under a police escort when transporting ultra-heavy cargo exceeding 100 tons. It will also carry out civil work to create temporary detour roads and reinforce or remove bridges in line with local geographical characteristics. When passing large industrial complexes, it will carry out safety work to prevent friction between ultra-high-voltage lines and heavy objects on roads.
