Looking to Penetrate Global Markets
GC MS announced on Feb. 25 that it recently signed a contract with MCM EVASRL, a Romanian medical device distributor, to export COVID-19 rapid antigen diagnosis kits.
GC MS will ship diagnostic kits worth 6.1 billion won in early March. It intends to expand its supply volume to more than 50 billion won by September 2021 by actively responding to local demand for diagnostic kits.
The exported item is "GENEDIA W COVID-19 Ag" released by GC MS in November 2020. The product is a quick antigen diagnostic kit that diagnoses COVID-19 infections within 10 minutes by using antigen-antibody binding reactions. It allows early stage COVID-19 patents to confirm their infections visually without any other diagnostic equipment.
The company said it is currently exploring overseas markets for the rapid antigen diagnostic kit and is speeding up the expansion of its sales in the European market including Germany, Hungary, Poland, Switzerland and Romania.
