CJ Logistics subsidiary in the Middle East has won a project logistics order for a natural gas facility to be built in the southern part of Surkhandarya, Uzbekistan.

CJ Logistics announced on Feb. 24 that CJ ICM, its subsidiary in the Middle East, has won a project logistics order for a natural gas treatment facility to be built in the southern part of Surkhandarya, Uzbekistan.

The term project logistics means logistics that transport and supply all materials and heavy-duty equipment necessary to carry out a specific project, such as the construction of large-scale infrastructure, according to the site schedule.

CJ ICM will provide comprehensive logistics services, including sea transport, transshipment, customs clearance, unloading, and inland transportation, to transport materials and equipment from five countries including China, Belgium, Spain, Germany, and Italy to Uzbekistan. The freight list includes super-heavy equipment weighing more than 500 tons. The total weight of all freight stands at about 8,000 tons, which equals the combined weight of about 110,000 adults who weigh 70 kg on average.

The one-time transportation distance from each country to Uzbekistan's construction area by sea and land is about 20,000 kilometers. This project will mobilize large-scale human resources and logistics equipment, including heavy cargo transportation personnel, cargo ships, transportation vehicles, and hydraulic module trailers among others.
