Korea Investment Corp. (KIC) announced on Feb. 9 that it will cooperate with Woori Bank in overseas alternative investment.

The two companies will cooperate in discovery of investment opportunities, information exchanges, education, and research regarding investments and loans for overseas real estate and infrastructure assets.

In order to globalize Korean financial institutions, KIC has provided Korean lenders with opportunities to participate in loan syndication. The amount of syndicated loans arranged by KIC stood at about US$540 million as of the end of 2020.

"Huge synergies will be created when the financial competitiveness of Woori Bank is combined with the investment network of KIC," said Choi Hee-nam, CEO of KIC. “KIC will steadily contribute to the development of the Koran financial industry by making good use of its abundant overseas investment experiences and access to high-quality investment information.”
