Future Car Technologies Account for Half

Hyundai Mobis filed a total of 2,100 intellectual property rights applications globally last year.

Hyundai Mobis announced on Feb. 2 that it filed a total of 2,100 intellectual property rights applications globally last year, with autonomous driving, connectivity, and electrification accounting for half of them. The rest were related with vehicle safety, lamps, and modules.

Hyundai Mobis is planning to expand its presence in the global mobility market based on its patents on core technologies.

To this end, Hyundai Mobis is providing support for researchers in each stage of R&D from selecting new R&D projects to verifying reliability.

Hyundai Mobis encourages employees’ invention activities by giving awards to outstanding inventions that were later patented. On Feb. 2, the company awarded prizes to a total of 46 patented inventions, including a curtain airbag folding technology and an audio signal control electrical circuit system for vehicles. Hyundai Mobis delivered about 200 million won in prize money.
