Supply of 20 Key Items to Be Stabilized This Year

The Korean government plans to stabilize the supply of 20 key industrial materials, components and equipment this year with regard to Japan’s export restrictions.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki announced on Jan. 26 that the supply of 20 key industrial materials, components and equipment would be completely stabilized this year with regard to Japan’s export restrictions against South Korea.

“The government achieved the stable supply for three items last year and the number will increase to 20 this year and 100 by 2024,” he said.

“We will not be content with the stable procurement in the material, component and equipment industries and will get the upper hand in the global value chain as a value chain creator,” he went on to say, adding, “At the same time, the government will form closer policy links between the industries and the sectors including future mobility, system-on-chip, biotech and healthcare, big data and artificial intelligence.”
