Igloo Security participated in Japan IT Week in Tokyo, Japan from May 14th to 16th this year, and spread the word about its new IS-KIMO integrated security management solution.

On July 10, IGLOO Security announced that it will release a new solution “IS-KIMO” that can prevent malicious code from infecting PCs due to software vulnerabilities. This product was developed based on the notion of Stop-Analyze-Respond (SAR). SAR refers to stopping the attack of malicious code, analyzing the information of the attack, and responding to the attack by raising the level of software security by spreading the results of the data analysis to other systems.

In particular, the newly-developed software can block malicious code completely, since it can detect and block vulnerabilities of software and applications, which are mainly used as a vector for malware circulation.

The new solution detects and blocks attacks of malicious code that target the vulnerabilities of various applications through a technique that can detect malicious code based on activities, instead of using the existing signature method. Thus, it can defend against a zero-day attack in real time, which is difficult to accomplish with existing antivirus software.

A dual engine composed of a monitoring engine executed in real-time and a smart engine was used in the new solution. Together with protection in real-time, malicious files that are automatically installed on a PC can also be detected. Furthermore, it is easy to apply various security policies, since separate database updates are not required. Moreover, the software provides a convenient environment for managing the database.
