Condolence Flowers for Late Samsung Chairman

Condolence flowers sent by Apple CEO Tim Cook for the late Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee 

Former U.S. President George W. Bush, Apple CEO Tim Cook and IOC President Thomas Bach sent condolence flowers for the funeral of the late Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee.

The late chairman met with the former U.S. president in 1992. The latter was the governor of Texas when Samsung built a semiconductor manufacturing plant in Texas in the late 1990s. Samsung Electronics vice chairman Lee Jae-yong met with the former president in South Korea last year.

The late chairman was a member of the International Olympic Committee. The president of the IOC asked Korean Sport & Olympic Committee President Lee Kee-heung to attend the funeral for him and flew a flag at half-mast at the IOC HQ in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The late Samsung chairman attended a memorial ceremony for the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Apple sent the flowers in return for the visit. Exor, the holding company of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, also sent flowers. The late chairman was an outside director of the company.
