Targeting accident-free harbor through disaster prevention plan

Busan Port Authority (BPA) repeatedly reaped up as international logistics hub upon exceeding the records of 17.03 million TEU last year the largest amount ever, have provided guidelines for the prevention of safety accidents that may occur in the harbor and begun to practice.

BPA (CEO: Lim Ki-tack, left) announced in January 25, 2013 that ‘Busan Port Management Plan’ have been set up to reduce safety incidents that occurs in Busan Port formed by 4 standards of safe management.

The core point of this plan is to enact the‘Busan Port Safety Management Standard’ in order to create safe working environments.

Safe accidents occurred in the harbor are mostly leading to a great disaster, especially Busan port where has tons of container cargo throughput, needs to pay attention to strengthen the safety management.

One official of BPA said, “We expect further reduction of safety accident through this comprehensive safety management plan and to eventually reach accident-free harbor,”
