Doubles Cable Parts Production Capacity

LSCI’s new plant in Bawal, a city in India in the state of Haryana

LS Cable & System announced on Oct. 6 that it has doubled cable parts production capacity of its Indian subsidiary, LS Cable & System India (LSCI), by building a new plant on its premise.

LS Cable & System plans to foster LSCI as a production base for telecom cable harnesses to respond to India's rapidly growing domestic market and tap into overseas markets such as Europe and North America. Cable harnesses are parts that connect base stations and antennas to systems.

LS Cable & System has been supplying its products to Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone through Samsung Electronics and Ericsson in India. The company is enjoying a market share of about 20 percent in the Indian market.

"Global telecom equipment companies such as Ericsson and Nokia are fostering global sourcing bases in India," said Park Hyun-ho, head of LSCI. "We plan to enhance product quality by computerizing quality control systems and seek to expand our market presence."

LS Cable & System established LSCI on a site of about 162,000 square meters in Bawal, a city in the Indian state of Haryana, in 2008. The company is supplying power and communication cables and parts.
