The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on May 18 that it sent a delegation to Israel to discuss bilateral cooperation in the fields of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturing and information security.

The delegation consists of Park Hee-jae, head of the R&D Strategy Planning Team of the Ministry, and 16 other government officials, UAV developers and information security researchers. They flew to Israel on May 17 and plan to stay there until May 21, visiting UAV manufacturers and information security companies and having two-way meetings. The destinations include IAI, Elbit System, and Blue Bird Aero Systems.

In the meantime, the delegation leader is going to meet with Israel’s Deputy Minister of Economy to ask for expanded strategic and technical cooperation in the form of, for example, increased joint R&D funds.
