Big Stream Attracts Investment from Samsung, SK Hynix

Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have invested in Bigstream Solutions, a U.S. software company.

Bigstream, headquartered in California, the United States, announced through its website on April 29 (local time) that it has received investment from the two Korean semiconductor producers. Companies that have invested in Bigstream Solutions include U.S. investor Cota Capital and semiconductor fabless company Xilinx.

The total investments that Big Stream has attracted amounted to US$19.1 million, with the investment amount by compant remaining under wraps. It is planning to use the investments in developing technology to efficiently manage and analyze large amounts of data in real time. Founded in 2015, Big Stream is developing software that speeds up data processing devices such as graphics processing units (GPUs).

Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix invested in Bigstream as the company is focusing on developing high-performance semiconductors. As technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning advance, increasing data use, the adoption of high-capacity semiconductors is on the uptick.
