A 100-Mil.-Euro Project

LS Cable & System will supply submarine cables worth approximately 100.74 million euros to Dutch power company Tenet.

LS Cable & System announced on April 21 that it has signed a contract worth approximately 100.74 million euros to supply submarine cables to Tenet, a state-run power company in the Netherlands.

The company said it was chosen for the contract through a general screening system that evaluates technology and business experience, not prices. “This illustrates LS Cable & System’s world-class business capability,” a company official said.

LS Cable & System has supplied its submarine cables to European countries since 2012, including the United Kingdom (2012), Denmark (2013) and Belgium (2016).

The Netherlands plans to build 10 offshore wind farms from 2019 to 2029 in order to secure a total of 11 GW electric power, which is enough to supply electricity to over 10 million households.

LS Cable & System will supply 210-km-long submarine cables to two offshore wind farms to be built off the north and west coasts by 2023.
