A New Mass Premium Phone
LG Electronics has unveiled a design rendering of a new mass premium phone that will be released in May.
The biggest feature of the new model, the first to be unveiled following the abandonment of the “G” brand, is its water drop camera. Three rear cameras and a flash are arranged vertically as if they were falling water drops. The main camera at the top is the largest drop among them and is slightly protruding, suggesting it is a high-performance camera. The other two cameras are placed inside the rear glass for a smooth feel.
LG Electronics also first applied 3D arc design, with the left and right ends of the front display gently curved. The rear cover is also bent at the same angle and becomes an oval shape when seen from below.
"The previous right-angled shape could not be held fast because there was an empty space between the hand and the device," LG Electronics explained. “Its 3D arc design is oval, so the surface that comes into close contact with the hand is wide, creating a comfortable fitting feel.”
The new mass premium phone will be released in the Korean market in May.
