Production Lines Not Affected

SK Hynix has reported the first confirmed case of COVID-19 among its officials.

SK Hynix has reported the first confirmed case of COVID-19 among its employees, but the chipmaker says there is no problem in operating the production lines.

An employee at SK Hynix's Icheon Plant was recently confirmed to be with the COVID-19 virus. The employee met his family members after leaving work on March 6. He went into self-quarantine during the weekend as his family members showed symptoms of COVID-19. The employee's family members were confirmed as COVID-19 patients on March 10 and the employee was also confirmed to have the virus on March 13.

However, the employee did not adversely affect the operation of SK Hynix's plant as he entered self-quarantine when his family members showed COVID-19 symptoms.

“We could completely prevent further infections as the employee faithfully followed self-quarantine instruction announced by the company,” an SK Hynix official said. "There are no problems with the operation of our factory and this will remain a very good example."
